I’m very happy to announce that we’ve added a new face to Team #WeAreYQQ: Cathy Snyder.
As well as being the person responsible for subscriptions and membership, Cathy is also going to help us grow our unique marketing and business development service packages. It’s through these services, and our collaborative approach, that the #WeAreYQQ Project is growing businesses in the Comox Valley.
A familiar face to Comox Valley business
Cathy was an ad sales representative with one of the #WeAreYQQ Solution Sponsors, the Comox Valley Record, for 12 years. She retired from the Record 3 years ago to take time to travel and dance with her husband Ken. She also retired to take on more volunteer roles with her Comox Rotary Club, including the Interact club at Isfeld. Cathy knows our business community – and she knows the kind of value they’re looking for from a subscription service like ours.
I know Cathy though our Comox Valley dance community. Over the years she’s impressed me as someone who wants to support her community at a grassroots level, someone who walks the talk of community service. I started to invite her to attend #WeAreYQQ Project workshops and events, because I thought she’d find what we’re doing to be interesting – and useful.
After a taking in some BizOnDeck workshops and a couple of our signature #WeAreYQQ Entrepreneur Parties Cathy told me she was, impressed with what she’d heard, and that she wanted more people to be able to access what we’re doing. She accepted my invitation to create a new position focused on growing this business of growing businesses. Her words: “I’m excited to be involved. You’ve created a grassroots-level service that’s helping people grow and succeed in their businesses in the Comox Valley.”
Am I excited to have Cathy on board? Absolutely. Her talent for sales is a good fit for what we need right now. We’re prepared to take this to another level, offering more services to Comox Valley business, and engaging even more businesses that want to grow BIGger. Having Cathy on board will help us do that.
