That was fun! Festive Cheer – and what comes next

Festive Cheer: a fun and successful evening! If you were with us, you know what I’m talking about.

Chantal Stefan’s new presentation about Everybody Deserves A Smile (EDAS) was super. It helped propel a very excited auction by Adam Duncan (hats off to Adam for that!). We had great items, including “Date Nights” (thanks to #WeAreYQQ rockstars like Atlas Cafe, The White Whale, and the Sid Williams Theatre), a limited edition print from Brian Scott, and a very cool “Moonshiner’s Experience” for four from Wayward Distillation House.

Before that, Step and Robin from Lucky Village Enterprises ran a social media game that gave away $100s in prizes, and Leanne from Studio IPF: Inner Pursuit Fitness gave away $100s more with her Mayhem Mixup game. Meanwhile, sparkly party goers were getting their festive portraits by Ron Pogue Photography (by $2 donation to EDAS) by the fire at Prime Chophouse. Great stuff!

I love it when we can get great exposure for the dozens of businesses – and the dozens more sponsors, partners, and subscribers – who make our events such a hit. Your prizes and your  by fuelling our games and our giveaways. One of my favourite quotes of the evening, “I make more coming to these parties than I pay in tickets!” Add to that, we were raising awareness and funds for EDAS and it was an amazing evening. Thanks to all who made it happen, including Festive Sponsors like SunLife Financial, Jabin Postal Films, 50th Parallel PR, and Festive Angels like My Tech Guys and Eatmore Sprouts.

If you’d like your business featured in our fun and games, send me a note and we’ll make that shift happen!

Next: Stuff your stockings with gifts for the entrepreneurs and creatives in your life

Every winter we throw a party for LIFT VIPs – and anyone else who wants to join in the fun this group of entrepreneurs make happen! I’m inviting you to be part of the fun. To dress a little sparkly and shake off the winter blahs. To play some games with us, win some great prizes. If you’ve already been to our parties, you know they’re lively and fun and a little outside the box.

On January 25th we’ll have DJ Adil helping us get party vibe happening. Thanks to Startup Canada and Startup Comox Valley, we’ve also got Dr. Sean Wise, former Dragons’ Den Advisor, as our keynote. We’re also going raise some funds for Startup Comox Valley with this event.

Today we opened ticket sales. And they’re already moving. We had 30 “earliest bird tickets” available. Now we’ve got 20. Great stocking stuffers for the entrepreneurs, creatives, and “outside-the-box” people in your life – like you! Earliest bird pricing lasts until we’re sold out. I suggest you get yours now.

If you’re a LIFT VIP – a Solution Sponsor, Community Partner, or a Champ or Ambassador subscriber – you’ve got free tickets until January 1. Do. Not. Wait. Get yours now.

If you’re not already a LIFT VIP but want perks like free tickets and $1000s in benefits, please see please call me at 250-792-1408 and we’ll get you subscribed super fast!

And more!

  • January 6: Luncheon Show & Tell at the White Whale with LIFT Solution Sponsor Nazaneen Dizai, presenting on her business, 50th Parallel PR, with a focus her work with First Nations. Tickets here.
  • January 18: BizOnDeck workshop with Paul Hansen, Local Photo Adventures, and Annie Danko, Wayward Kin Apparel. Tickets here.
  • Today: Start earning a December 2017 “Festive Bonus” cheque by referring LIFT subscribers today! We’ll be paying you $200-$2000-and more for helping us grow business in the Comox Valley and beyond – because I think engaging Campbell River and Qualicum Beach entrepreneurs helps make our regional economy stronger and more resilient. Let’s make this shift happen!

If I don’t see you before the festive season gets fully under way, I hope you and yours have a wonderful month of December. I’m planning on taking some time off, visiting YEG with Jenny, maybe hosting a party or two with close friends and family. I look forward to seeing you in 2017!
